RESULTS PROJECTS

The Stosny Treatment Model for Perpetrators is a treatment model showing highly successful results in eliminating battering behavior in court ordered perpetrators. Verification of these results has now been replicated by an independent team of researchers. Results show an 87% success rate. The Originator of the program is Dr. Steven Stosny.

The Court Watch model program works within the court system to monitor all cases that are domestic violence related. These volunteers form collaborative relationships with judges to change court procedures and find better ways to ensure safety of women and prosecution of perpetrators. Several significant court changes have occurred across the country as a result of this work. This program was also introduced to Montana in October of 1999. A PowerPoint and video presentation on establishing a Court Watch program in your area is currently available.

In October, 2000, the 'Self-Mastery' treatment model for Domestic Violence perpetrators was introduced to Counselors and Social Workers in Helena. This program will become the model in Montana as the ease and simplicity of application in many different situations has so many positive effects. Rather than anger management, Self-Mastery teaches innate worth and self-esteem.   Several workshops were presented in Montana since 2000.
